Donna Mae Taylor Hites, 94, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023.

Visitation at 2:30 p.m. with Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, 4350 River Oaks Blvd

Private Interment at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Donna Mae Taylor was born in Verden, Oklahoma on July 28, 1928 to James Bascom Taylor and Anna Belle Mann Taylor. During the Depression period the family moved around as her father sought employment opportunities and finally settled in Fort Worth where Donna attended and graduated from Paschal High School in January 1947. She was employed by American Airlines at Meacham Field, Fort Worth and worked in the Communication Department before attending business school in Fort Worth to continue her education and secretarial skills on her resume. The investment in training opened several job prospects and  she was hired by General Dynamics in Fort Worth, where she also met William “Bill” Henry Hites. After a brief courtship they married on March 1, 1952 and celebrated their 65thwedding anniversary, before Bill passed on March 6, 2018.

She is preceded in death by husband Bill Hites and son, John T. Hites (November 13, 2020) and survived by daughter, Deborah Hites Scofield and husband Kenny, daughter-in-law Lou Smith Hites, grandchildren, Johnny Hites Jr., Angela Dinell Hites and husband Andy, Jennifer Hites Littrell and husband Scott, and great-grandson Jakob Tanner Spor.
