Elliott Robert Mcneese

June 7, 1979 — May 21, 2025

Elliott Robert McNeese, born on June 7th, 1979 in Cuero, TX, passed away on May 21st, 2025 in Fort Worth, TX.

Elliott was a proud Navy veteran, a talented guitarist with a deep love for music, and a beloved husband, brother, cousin, nephew, son and uncle.

After graduating from Berkner High School in Plano, Texas, in 1997, he enlisted in the United States Naval Forces in 1998. Elliott was stationed at the Naval Station Great Lakes training facility near Chicago, IL. Upon completing recruitment training, Elliott served on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower where he met his first wife, Dena McManus. The pair settled in Virginia Beach, VA while commuting to the Norfolk Naval Station until Dena's heartbreaking passing in 2003.

Elliott then served on the USS John F. Kennedy, and finally the USS Wasp before seeking an honorable discharge in 2007 to start a family with his second wife, fellow Naval Aviation Electronics Technician Petty Officer Second Class, Julie Watson. Upon his Honorable discharge, Elliott had obtained the rank of Aviation Electronics Technician Petty Officer First Class (AW). Shortly after their marriage, Elliott and Julie were blessed with their first child, Ethan Robert McNeese. Four years later the couple was blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Ava Laurel Mae.

During his time in the Naval Forces, Elliott’s Primary Specialty for AT-6611 included Aircraft UHF Communications, Automatic Direction Finder and Intercommunications Systems Equipment IMA Technician, for the AT-6704 Consolidated Automated Support System Test Station IMA Operator/Maintainer. His awards included Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal; Meritorious Unit Commendation; Navy “E” Ribbon; Good Conduct Medal (2); National Defense Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Medal; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2); Flag Letter of Commendation; Enlisted Aviation Warfare Insignia.

Elliott received an Associate in Applied Science - Technical Studies from Excelsior College on October 20, 2006; an Associate in Applied Sciences - Information Technology Security from Tarrant County College on May 14, 2015; and a Private Pilot Rotorcraft Helicopter Certificate on December 7, 2004.

Elliott's love and passion for music thrived throughout the entirety of his life. He began playing the guitar at the age of 13, and taught himself to play by ear on both acoustic and electric guitars. Elliott could often listen to a song once, and then play it back to you. Elliott had recently begun performing in the Dallas Fort Worth area as the guitarist for Texicity, and bassist for Against All Odds, both local DFW-based bands. He was well known and loved in the DFW grassroots music scene. Outside of live performing, Elliott was known to entertain and delight his family and friends with his guitar and vocal skills at many get-togethers.

Elliott is survived by his loving wife and fellow Navy Veteran Julie Marion McNeese, son Ethan Robert McNeese, and daughter Ava Laurel Mae McNeese. He is also survived by his siblings Nichole and Natalie McNeese and Rodrigo and Matias Gaffoglio, by his father, Harold "Bob" Robert McNeese, and many cousins, including his closest cousin, Collin McNeese. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Dena McNeese, and holds a special place in his heart for her mother, Melissa, and sisters Melanie and Cecelia. He was loved by animals, especially his cats Noodle and Murphy and dog Snowy.

Elliott was well loved and will be deeply missed.
