Eugenia Wells Cassell

Genie Cassell passed away on November 7, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She taught school for 34 years in GCISD. In 1976, at Dove Elementary and later in1984, at Timberline Elementary, she was named Teacher of the Year. She achieved accreditation to teach children in special education and was the first teacher in the district to begin this resource program . Genie loved sports, to play bridge, travel, and TCU where she earned both BA and MA degrees. The only thing she loved more than her Horned Frogs were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Kathleen Cassell Flaa (John), Bryan Cassell (Joyce), and Jan Cassell Hinckley (Jim), grandchildren, Wesley Bryan Flaa (Jessika), Richard Andrew Flaa (Stephanie), Adam Cassell Flaa, Emily Cassell Gomez, Kathleen Cassell Meyers (Josh), James Cassell Hinckley, Alexander Bryan Hinckley (Ali), great grandchildren, Michael, Jackson, Patrick, Olivia, Ella, and Albert Flaa, Penelope Gomez, Ryder Crutchfield, and Luke Meyers.
