Joan Marie Gores Humble

Joan Marie Gores Humble, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 16, 2023 at her home.

Joan was born on March 13, 1937 to John and Goldie Gores of Plainwell, Michigan.

In 1979, Joan and her family relocated to the southwest, residing in Santa Fe, NM and El Paso, TX, whereupon she obtained her M.A. in Elementary Education.  Joan taught for several years in the Ysleta and Canutillo school districts, until her retirement, thereafter residing in Crowley, TX.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Gary Humble, an infant daughter, Mary Catherine and grandson, Stephen Field.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Mona) Humble, Anne (Harry) Field, Susan (Martin) Smith, Michael (Terry) Humble and Matthew (Erin) Humble; her sister, Jean (Tom) Paradis; brother, John (Pam) Gores; four nieces; one nephew; 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Friends are invited to a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023 in the Chapel at St. Francis Village.  She will later be interred in St. Margaret Cemetery, Otsego, MI.

Should friends desire, contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
