John Thomas Gilley

John Thomas Gilley, 60, passed away at his home in Denton on October 11, 2023.

John was born in Oklahoma City on July 11, 1963, to Floyd Gilley and Olega (Russell) Gilley. He always spoke of his childhood and how wonderful it was, he often said he would go back and do it all over again if given the opportunity.

John was a lot of things to many people, a husband, father, uncle, friend, and mentor. He took pride in creating meaningful relationships, and truly cared for everyone he met. He was honest, strong willed, curious, hardworking, compassionate, and kind among many other wonderful traits. He was an avid outdoorsman; you could find him hunting, fishing, and shooting guns in his free time. He was also proud that his family shared his love of the outdoors alongside him.

While we are sad he is no longer with us on Earth, we take comfort knowing that he is resting in the arms of Jesus until we meet again.
