Laverne Marie Butler

LaVerne Marie Butler, born October 5, 1955, was a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was the sweetest person you will ever meet. She is the daughter of Air Force Captain Thomas Smith, and daughter of Delores Louzon Smith, who worked in the banking industry.

She worked as a medical transcriptionist for over 20 years and loved the work she did. She was kind, smart, thoughtful, considerate and thankful. Although she wasn’t a weekly church goes, she believed in God and his gift of eternal life. She was a mother of 4 children, Jennifer, Michael, Lynn, and Mason. She loved her children with all her heart and enjoyed the times they spent together.

She is survived by her mother, Deloris Smith; three sisters, Mary, Carol and Beth; three brothers, Thomas, Michael, and Joseph; four children, Michael, Jennifer, Lynn, and Mason; three grandchildren, Haley, Melody, Mark; two brothers-in-law’s, Mike and Steve; and numerous cousins.
