Mary Nell Hughitt Dater

Mary Nell Hughitt Dater, 81, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024.

Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the Santa Fe Drive Baptist Church, Weatherford.

Interment will follow in the Bethesda Cemetery north of Garner, Texas.

Mary Nell was born March 30, 1942 in Fort Worth, the daughter of Nettie and Charlie Hughitt. She was the second of eleven children, six boys and five girls.  They moved to Garner when Mary was in high school. She and John Edgar Dater met when he moved back to Garner. They were married 29 January 1961 at Garner Baptist Church.  Mary Nell worked with Johnny as his business and she enjoyed knitting and doing word puzzles.  She loved to sing and was part of the choir at Santa Fe Baptist Church where she was a long-time member.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Dater; three sons; one daughter; four grandsons and two great granddaughters.
